Christene wat graag saam met ons die Here God wil aanbid, is welkom om in te skakel by die gemeente.  Mag Hy elkeen wat hierdie woorde lees, ontmoet en seën.

The Afrikaans Christian Church of New Zealand was born out of a desire to worship God in our own language. The congregation was originally part of the ACC Northshore Congregation and was considered to be an additional place of worship for the members residing in south Auckland. On the second of April 2006, ACC Howick was established as an independent congregation. Rev Louis Fourie was appointed as the permanent minister, and he was succeeded in 2009 by the current minister, rev Frederick Terblanche.ACC Howick’s members find their identity in Christ. We are a belief-centred family that belongs to the Lord Jesus Christ. As His children, we share in His ever-present grace and salvation, and are led by the Holy Spirit. Our understanding of our own humanity leads to the congregation placing a high premium on the Word of God. Through learning the will of God, we in turn get to know ourselves. This process takes place through mediums such as preaching, teaching opportunities such as Bible school, small group gatherings and catechesis.Sermons are held on a weekly basis, both in Howick and Pukekohe. The emphasis is placed on Scripture-centred and relevant preaching. Prospective preachers from within the congregation receive monthly training, applicable both in the wider denomination and in outreach activities to other communities. The sacraments of baptism and communion are served to the congregation. Both facets of the baptism are offered, namely the covenant-baptism and the repentance-baptism.As a belief-centered family we gather during teaching events, small group gatherings, functions and camps. Men and women also have separate gatherings, focusing on their individual needs. Youth members are in charge of the youth sermons and ministry. The elderly within the congregation meet on a monthly basis during a Super 60 gathering. The congregation is managed in accordance with Presbyterian governance principles. This means that there is a church board, consisting of leaders, who are responsible for the daily organisation of the church. This gets ratified during congregational meetings. We form a part of the wider ACC family and is directly involved with ACC Wellington and ACC Hawkes Bay. The congregation is part of a denomination that also has bilateral bonds with churches in Australia and South Africa. Our calling is to the city, to the local community, and to the world. We are involved with a variety of projects in New Zealand, Japan and South Africa.Any Christian who has the desire to worship the Lord our God is welcome to join our congregation. May He bless all those who read these words.
